Can you believe it’s September? Where the heck did summer go? Sure, it’s still technically here, but the kids are back to school now, so it feels like fall. Plus the temps have definitely been dropping here in Minnesota. I seriously can’t wait for the changing leaves…I pretty much walked outside and drove my car with little hearts in my eyeballs like that emoji (anyone?) last year for a couple of weeks. And pumpkin is coming back. I mean, it just is. You can’t get away from it. I know we will all be sick of it come January, but for now…PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING!!
Okay this is beside the point of this post, so I will get into the real discussion: the Did You Know link-up.
This link-up is for any nutrition, health or fitness post that teaches something.
It can be tips and tricks, it can be something new you learned, it can even be your current half-marathon training plan.
If you are a healthy living or fitness blogger, you probably already have a dozen posts you could link-up—please do so! I look forward to these posts each month because I always learn so much from you guys.
A couple of cool things about the Did You Know link-up:
- It’s hosted on 3 different blogs. Yay for more exposure!
- You get to learn new things from bloggers. Even if you don’t have a blog you can benefit from this link-up!
- It’s open for two weeks. If you miss it on the first Friday of the month, no sweat..you have 13 more days!
- We pin each post that is linked up to our handy-dandy Did You Know Pinterest board. Yay again for more exposure because as we all know…Pinterest drives a. lot. of blog traffic!
I have also started to high-light my favorite posts that bloggers link-up from the previous months. Check to see if yours is featured below!
Some Favorites from Previous Did You Know Link-Ups:
Rolled Oats vs Breadcrumbs via Diary of an Ex Sloth This made me think of a sort of experiment we did in my cooking class in Lincoln. We made meatloaf with a bunch of different grains and it turns out the bread crumbs absorbed (held in) more of the fat from the meat than any other grain. So it depends on what you’re going for with you meal, but oats are definitely a good substitute for breadcrumbs.
I loved this post because it’s something I can really relate to. I’ve definitely gone through depressions where I would write posts complaining about things and just being downright sad all over the blog. Now that I’ve crawled out of that hole a bit, the blog is a more happy and fun place (although if you truly read my posts, you will see that my life isn’t totally perfect..for example the time I threw away the new stove top grill we bought in a fit of anger..did you catch that?)
I will be linking up:
My post about getting back into a fitness routine!
I will admit I am a bit nervous about the upcoming cold months because last winter was my first winter here in Minnesota…and it just so happened to be the worst winter in 30 years. So..yeah I pretty much just stayed in my apartment and started going a little crazy because I still hadn’t really made any friends up here yet. I’m trying to be positive though and making a resolution to workout each week will surely help beat the post-summer grumpies!
Make sure you link back to one of our blogs! You can use one of the buttons below for your post or sidebar for easy linking! (let me know if you need help installing a button!)
