Hello Friends!
In running we don't wear helmets.
We don't have shin-guards, elbow pads or airbags that inflate when we crash.
This is why running is a deceivingly dangerous sport. I will tell you why.

1. When you run with ipod headphones in your ears and thoughts on your mind, you may forget you are crossing the street. You might almost get hit by a car and feel like a total idiot...apologizing profusely to the poor driver. (And later realize...you could really have gotten hurt. God's hand was in that for sure!!)

2. Some people don't put their dogs on a leash. Even little ankle-biters can make you feel like you're about to be demolished in seconds. What to do? Run faster? Or does that make them chase after you? I still haven't quite figured it out.

3. When it is sunny AND windy out, you won't feel dehydration set in as quickly. The wind can be a deceiving thing since it helps the sweat to evaporate, therefore we don't feel sweaty or hot. But we still sweat out the same amount of water and salts, so we need to replenish those as we would on a normal sunny day.
I made sure to do this, but I was shocked that in 85 degree weather, I wasn't feeling the perspiration as much as usual.
Another danger (this has nothing to do with running), not checking the label on your shaving cream.
Something labeled "cooling sensations" should be put back on the shelf immediately. Unless you want your body to be tingly and effervescent.
So. So. Weird. (Yes, I used it. I needed to shave!!)
Motto of the story: be careful. It's a dangerous world out there! ;-)
Have a lovely evening friends!
