Happy (Late) Mother's Day + Cupcake Champs

Happy (Late) Mother's Day Friends!

Apparently we celebrate things late in my family.  

Celebrated the Daddio's birthday a week late...celebrated Mother's Day last night...

It's okay though, as long as we get together right?

As I said, last night we celebrated Mother's Day with my family (minus sister Courtney..she was working).

BF and I got some flowers for my mom and her mom (aka Grandma). 

 Most colorful flowers and tissue paper and ribbon ever!!

I get really excited about pretty things...and must have said a dozen times to BF: these are SO PRETTY!!!

We met at our usual pizza place.  I started the trend of getting a salad before the pizza.  I love setting a healthy trend!

I had hamburger...because that is the best kind of pizza.  With red pepper flakes for kick!!

But I was most excited about the dessert last night....

There is a local cupcake bakery (that also sells food) a few stores down from our regular pizza place.

This cupcakery actually just won Cupcake Wars!!  Have you ever seen this show?

The actual display was on..display ;-)

Basically 4 different teams come in to compete for $10,000 and the winning team supplies some cool event with a display and 100 cupcakes.

Needless to say, these cupcakes were good.  Moist, just sweet enough cupcake and decadent frosting.  My red velvet with cream cheese frosting was so delicious and filling...I had to take half of it home (really...I just wanted to prolong the experience).

Even the to-go cupcake box was adorable!
